Quantity, not always quality.

I’m usually a stickler for doing and investing in things of quality, not quantity, but over the last few months I’ve realized that sometimes I need to create many things in order to get to the quality things. I can’t share the work yet, but it’s been an amazing period of growth, epiphany, and inspiration for me. I realize that I love creating and building towards something and that the journey is truly where I find joy.

I started to draw a dodo bird and ten started thinking about Alice in Wonderland- so I drew the rabbit, a clam, and the scary Cheshire cat. A mouse and a chick made there way into the picture, too. It’s funny where the mind wanders sometimes.

Today I made icons of a bunch of things that I like. I freaking love the snow walkers and the cylon raider. And Stay Puft of course. These are super fun to make and I lose track of time.

Playing with my handwriting today-so I doodled all of ernie’s nicknames. He has more than this, I’m sure.

Farro with roasted vegetables-it takes forever to make it, but it is oh so satisfying when I do. This is what I made today.

I love farms. And farm animals. Ernie makes an appearance in this drawing because I think he would make a great farm dog. He has experience with chickens and herds me sometimes.

Today I made a BLT- a delicious, mouth-watering BLT with homemade roasted garlic aioli (yes, I made the mayo!)

Flowers are forgiving-that’s why I love drawing them. And seeing all the blooming trees and daffodils today made me happy. When I was a kid, my favorite flowers were dandelions and these funny purple flowers that were abundant in the yard-I didn’t know they were weeds until I was older. But, delight is about perspective sometimes.

I am a sucker for travel-sized products. I know I can buy big containers and refill little ones, but I just love the smallness and portability of the travel-sized item. Today I drew some. I think they look terrible. But I made them and am sharing as the thing I made today. And that’s ok.
